K-5 Reflection

Now I don’t remember much from my primary to intermediate school years that well, but I have a couple memories but they’re nothing exciting or fancy. In fourth grade I had Mrs. Jenks who was a new teacher but ended up getting laid off due to the recession. In her class I distinctly remember her bringing in her new born baby girl twice to watch a movie with the class or when we had our picnic days. I also remember when she decided to play a joke on the class by saying we have a surprise test, and Jarrett Miner immediately got up ran to the window, opened it and was about to jump out when Mrs. Jenks screamed at him “what are you doing?” Let me tell you that it was a second story class room. However, that was even the best part; the best part was Jarrett’s response. He stated with determination “I was going to jump out the window, because I didn’t want to take the test!” Since then Mrs. Jenks never joked with the class about pop quizzes or tests ever again. Now that I...

6-8 Reflection

In middle school my friends and I realized we all won’t be in the same classes anymore so we decided get to school every morning early for breakfast so we could hang out in the morning every day. Little did we know it would become a tradition and carry on into high school. In middle school my fondest memories were probably during lunch with my friends. My two friends and I would buy as much slushies as we possibly could and then have slushies fights. We would fling slushies at each other with spoons or just throw the cups at each other. Needless to say I had a lot of detentions in middle school as well. Another fun thing I did in lunch with my friends would be when we raid the nacho cheese stand before people go into the cafeteria, and we would take all the cheese and make other students by some from us if they want cheese. We charged fifty cents, which was double the original price and we made some good cash from it over the years. I’m still surprise they never ca...

9-12 Reflection

Throughout my years in high school, I was always the planner in my group and I would always schedule the get together, proms, camping trips, parties. It was a lot of worked but it always paid off. One my most memorable parties I believe was senior year Christmas party. For many reasons, the main one being all of our answers to Jackbox Party Games questions and Cards Against Humanity. Jackbox Party Games is an online game that features variety of games within it, and the one we were playing is called QuipLash. It’s were you answer prompts and two people answers compare and everyone votes for the best answer. My best friend since first grade has an insane phobia of mannequins. She’s absolutely terrified of them, and I take total advantage of it. I was answering a prompt on Quiplash that said ‘What do mannequins think about?’ I answered with “Where’s Hailey >:D” I ended up getting all the votes which is called ‘QuipLash’ and a wave of laughter and an angry glare. I...

Goals

At the start of the school year in Mr. Currin’s class he asked us to write what our goals were in letter for our future self. Needless to say I thought I didn’t accomplish any goals, but I surprisingly did. I completed three of my goals. One of my goals was to get a job. Which I did! I even got two jobs. One at the Rec. Center and another at Green Fields. At the Rec. Center I’m the assistant to the director and at Green Fields I am a receptionist. Another goal of mine was to finally have my step shipped back to her mother, which it hasn’t happened yet but I know she’s leaving June 15 th after her last exam here. My last goal was to get a car. Money wise I was nowhere near to getting a car. However, my mom had a surprise for me that I didn’t know about. When my grandma past away she had five hundred dollars set aside for me for graduation, and gave it to my mother before she passed away. My mom decided to pitch in an extra five hundred dollars and buy me a 1997 Sat...

Veteran's History Project

My veteran for my history project was the amazing world war two veteran Mr. Pete Reader. Mr. Reader was a kind senior citizen who beamed with happiness. He showed a lot of compassion to his wife and everyone he met. He loved sharing his stories, and wanted people to carry on his legacy. What I learned from his stories was that he served in the Army and was a captain at one point, until he was transfer to be a prisoner guard in Germany. He stated how even though the prisoners were his enemies, he became friends with them, because they’re all humans want to live. Which I found interesting, since there a language barrier there and the fact that they both have killed troops from either side. I also remember him telling my group that even though he was a runt in the beginning he had to learn how to use all types of guns. Mr. Reader also expressed his feelings about war movies and videogames and how they don’t compare at all to real war/combat. I’ve had a memorable learn...
